Build fast, but build for posterity
Always write code for someone else. Code is a language for a computer to execute, but also for a human to comprehend.
If you are a solo programmer, that someone else is you tomorrow. This extends from code to well thought-out comments and documentation.
Be autonomously collaborative
Use the agency you are given to express your skill and passion. But all things worth building, are built by a group of people.
Build as part of a team, and debate heavily. You learn when you are willing to look stupid, because we are all stupid at some point.
Be accountable
The corollary to collaborative autonomy is that you must be accountable to each other.
You're given space and time to do your best work — if you cannot meet your goals in spite of your best efforts, communicate that.
